Alison Cattell , LMSW

Wellness matters. Wellness first.

Allie is a licensed clinical social worker who has been working with adults and children for several years.  Allie has been trained in TFCBT & EMDR and has worked with children and young adults in a variety of settings.  Her goal is to create a therapeutic space where clients feel empowered, supported, and equipped with the tools they need to thrive.

Treatment Philosophy & Focus

Allie believes in creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for individuals of all ages. When working with children, Allie strives to be a trusted advocate who helps them feel heard, valued, and safe. She also prioritizes building strong relationships with parents and caregivers so they can work together to support each child’s growth and well-being.

Allie enjoys helping clients navigate life’s transitions and challenges, whether they need a compassionate listener or active support in developing coping skills and achieving personal goals. Her therapeutic approach is tailored to each individual’s unique needs and incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, and art therapy when working with children. She believes therapy can be both meaningful and engaging, and she often uses creative activities, games, and art projects to make the therapeutic process enjoyable and effective.

For children who have experienced trauma, Allie utilizes Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to help them process difficult experiences and build resilience. She is also certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and provides EMDR therapy for children, adolescents, and adults.

Education & Experience

Allie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master’s in Social Work, both from Michigan State University.  During her undergraduate studies and afterward, Allie worked in ABA therapy settings, supporting children on the autism spectrum. Through this work, she learned how to meet children at their developmental level while serving as a safe and trusted person who could help them build skills and confidence. During and after completing her Master’s degree, Allie worked in school settings as an intern, where she gained valuable insight into the transitions children and their families experience throughout their educational journey.
